10 Nov WNBA Girls Clinic with Coach Ashlee McGee, Washington Mystics

Ginninderra Rats are strongly committed to supporting participation opportunities for women and girls, with 26 junior girls teams taking to the floor this summer!  While we take great pride in the number of girls playing the game with Rats, our many Rats representing in local junior pathway programs and the consistently high achievements of our senior women’s teams, the fact remains that participation by boys remains far greater than that of girls.

We want to see more young girls choosing to share our love for the game, building the skills, passion and confidence to stay on court.

To kick off the new year we are super-excited to be delivering a targeted girls-only clinic with WNBA Washington Mystics Assistant Coach Ashlee McGee on 22 January 2025 at Belconnen Stadium.

Coach McGee has extensive experience at all levels in the US, having worked also with the Minnesota Lynx and LA Sparks in the WNBA, the Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA), USA Basketball and at multiple college programs including at James Madison University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and at Tennessee State.

Coach McGee will deliver three sessions across the day, each catering for different ages and experience levels:

9am–11am: 8-11 years

11.30am–1.30pm: 12-14 years

2.30pm–4.30pm: 15-19 years

Session cost is $40, with players required to bring their own ball, drink bottle and reversible playing singlet. Spaces are limited!!
